Jeff and Sarah Johnson are Georgia natives, living in Dawsonville, GA with their three children. They are so excited to share the beauty of the North Georgia mountains and one of their favorite places, Amicalola Falls, with their Timberline Glamping guests!
Jeff recently retired from the Navy, after 20 years of service. Countless deployments over the years, combined with traveling internationally for his civilian job as a Commercial Airline Pilot, meant that every minute at home with his family was precious, and Jeff longed for quality time that was relaxing, low-key, and laid back.
Sarah, on the other hand, was always on the lookout for the family’s next adventure! As a full-time Realtor and frazzled mom of 3, Sarah was always dreaming of the next vacation, and would spend hours scouring the internet to find quick getaways that would allow this busy family to reconnect, unplug, and make memories together.
After a friend shared her photos of a weekend spent at Timberline Glamping at Lake Lanier in 2019, Sarah realized she had discovered the perfect getaway that the whole family could enjoy!Sarah did not grow up going camping, and although Jeff was an Eagle Scout, his days of sleeping on the ground were over! However, the kids were always begging to go camping, and Sarah and Jeff knew that there was no better way to connect with your loved ones than sitting around a campfire together. Having the ability to enjoy the great outdoors all day and climb into a comfy bed at night sounded like perfection!
Fast forward to the summer of 2021, and Jeff and Sarah were desperately seeking a lifestyle change. The many years of deployments and travel had taken their toll, and their kids were growing up before their eyes. When presented with the opportunity to become one of Timberline Glamping’s first franchisees, Jeff and Sarah knew this was exactly what they were meant to do!
The Johnsons couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome their guests to Amicalola Falls State Park, in their own home town of Dawsonville, GA! Their dream is to help other families, friends, couples, and individuals reconnect with nature and each other, while they relax, recharge, and make lifelong memories.
